Following the success of the previous episodes of the ‘Beyond Borders: Breakfast Debate’, the next edition will take place on 12 February 2026, and will present the latest developments of the ACROSS data platform, the EU Data Hub dedicated to border regions.

A key focus of the session will be the new interactive web map, a user-friendly tool that allows intuitive visualisation and exploration of qualitative geospatial data. The map is designed to highlight cross-border interactions and functional links across EU border regions, supporting analysis, policymaking and cooperation.

Developed by DG REGIO and the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the ACROSS Data Hub is a transformative platform that provides harmonised geospatial data and socioeconomic indicators tailored to the needs of EU border regions. This new tool will empower policymakers and stakeholders with critical insights into key domains such as public transport, healthcare, and cross-border governance, helping to address obstacles and unlock the full potential of cross-border collaboration.
Despite progress, challenges remain in accessing high-quality, reliable, and up-to-date cross-border data—essential for evidence-based policymaking. The ACROSS Data Hub offers a solution, creating a one-stop platform to facilitate planning, implementation, and monitoring of policies across EU borders.
